Poke and Squeeze.
Today was my first prenatal appointment! At almost 11 weeks, the first apt is always my least favorite. The poke and squeeze as my family calls it. lol Being weighed is always a non-fun part and peeing in a cup isn't all that easy but those I don't mind. Its the pap that I dislike. Mothers know that on your first prenatal appointment they have to do a pap smear. Its not just that you have to have your lady parts out there in the open but the pushing and swabbing. I like my Dr. and the PAs very much they are great Drs and are easy to talk to, but its always uncomfortable to talk life when someone is poking around in your vajaja. Then to have someone who is not my husband need to put there fingers in there isn't any better. Once it over and the awkward is gone I'm happy that its over. I know its necessary to make sure all the cells are good and normal and all that jazz but still its not the funnest procession. All that aside the appointment went great! they did a quick ultrasound just to see the heartbeat and I got too see my little miracle! He/she was moving around, I could see the little arms and legs and the adorable little head! Its amazing how completely this baby has caught my heart just as my other 2 before. Robbie was at work this time, the first baby dr appointment that he has ever missed. he was sad but from now on our appointments will be on Fridays when he is home! only 9 more weeks until the big ultrasound and we get to find out what this baby is! always exciting, my family is fervently hoping for a boy but i would love another girl!

My daughter, Hercules!
Today was a perfect day to play in the water. Tula started out by helping me pour out the little plastic pools. We have one for each because Tula likes to slide into hers and Odie like to wade and relax. After they were drained and cleaned we re-filled them and started our pool time. 10 minutes after we got out to play Tula reminded me she needed sun screen, "mom I need scun screem please. I don't want a scun burn" lol. So my girls happily played in their pools on the porch while I played solitaire at the table and watched them splash around. maybe 30 minutes into their water fest Tula had to pee. I handed her a towel and let her into go to the bathroom. not even 30 seconds later i hear the door open with a huge thunk. Thinking that she just swung the door open hard when she went in I thought nothing of it. Until she yelled "mom I broke the door". I got up from the table giggling wondering how she could have possibly broken the door. First you have to know that when we first moved in Robbie broke the bottom hinge on the bathroom door doing something or other and instead of just buying a new one he replaced the bottom hinge with the middle one and left the middle empty. Tula being short compared to our doors can open them herself but stands on her toes and puts her weight into turning the knob. Anyway i get to the bathroom and indeed Tula had broken the door. All 30 lbs of her was apparently too much for the lowly door? When I get a closer look, I see that she has broken the hinge in half..that right in half! Tula looks at me and says shes sorry but seems confused that I am still laughing. I tell her to go potty while I get dads drill but not to touch the door. I have to quick fix since Robbie has my car with him at work because his needs a new clutch. As the only option I really have I take the middle hinge off my bedroom door and put it in the bathroom door. For now it is fixed and both doors are in working order but apparently we are going to have to get new, stronger, hinges this weekend so they can stand up to my Hercules!

Weekend with friends!
This weekend one of my very best friends came to visit!!! Its always so exciting for me when friends come to visit. One, because I always miss them and its great to see people when you haven't in a while. Two, because she braves staying at my noisy with my girls that are up at 7am! My girls love Karen, last night while we were leaving my moms house Tula informed Karen that she would be sleeping with her! Lucky for Karen, Tula was sound asleep in the car before we got home and went to sleep in her own bed without a fuss. My family loves Karen as much as I do, so naturally we spent one day while she was here with them also. We got there in the morning and sat and talked for a while, after lunch we all sat and watched Arthur(the new one with Russel Brand, its funny!) so the girls could take a nap. We ran and got fresh corn and potatoes from the local vegetable stand and had that and steaks for dinner! After dinner came the fun part, we made deep fried candy bars for desert. My mother had me, the sweets craving pregnant person, on her mind while thinking of the desert. They were amazing! Frozen Snickers, Milky way, Milky way Dark, Twixs, and 3 Musketeers on sticks. Dipped in funnel cake batter and quickly fried to warm gooey perfection! I am pretty sure both my girls were chocolate wasted! lol Altho a 2 day visit with my best friend isn't all that long, even a little time is well worth it and i hope Karen enjoyed seeing us as much as we did her!!! Yay! my hubbies home!
Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday. My husband (finally)got home from his week away at work, which leaves me with no usable hands to type. :) I love my husband, we have been together since high school. Yes we are high school sweethearts, yes I was a cheer leader and he was a football player. The usual small town cliche. except for the part where i was 2 grades above him. I was a junior and he was a freshman when we started dating, I think he just liked me because I was older. lol Hes different from other guys I know. Hes attuned to my emotions and cares what I think, he is not afraid to show emotion and hes all the better for it. He loves me, better than anyone else ever could. He knows more about me than I do sometimes. He puts up with my craziness and has lived through 2 of my emotional pregnancies and swears he will stay for this one too. Haha He really is a fantastic person. I don't think I could have asked for anyone better, even if he wasn't my true soul mate! So I really look forward to when he comes home after a week of hubby deprivation. and as one of my friends said, I have(almost) 3 kids for a reason! Without getting into any details ill just say hes amazing. :) and this weekend will be made all the better by a visit from one of my long time best friends! i cannot wait to see her and neither can my family!

Cleaning for guests and nap time
So i deep cleaned my carpets today. I have a very good friend coming to stay this weekend and my girls are super messy. I also had to clean my couch. I love my couch but since it is microfiber even water leaves a "stain". With 2 little girls and their sippies and mess my carpets and couch get dirty fast! On that note trying to deep clean my whole house while pregnant totally wiped me out! I cant complain really, I feel great except for the tiredness. I feel pretty normal. which is excellent but being tired and trying to keep up with a 3 year old and 1 year old is hard work. Being alone with them during the week makes it a bit harder but I handle it well and just take naps when they do! It makes me sound like such a dork that I need to nap. lol. I personally think nap time was a concept thought up by a pregnant women with a toddler! Sometime long ago a pregnant lady thought "if i don't get some sleep I'm gonna go crazy" she then decided that putting her toddler to sleep during the day and sleeping for a bit at the same time would help her maintain her sanity! It works for me, sleep to maintain sanity! I'm just hoping the tiredness goes away in the next couple weeks.

Tastey Tuesday and a Power Outage.
So ive decided that tuesday will be my day to share good recipes, if I have any! so today im sharing one i got from Paula Dean. I love food network and get alot of cool ideas from watching all the great cooks! Todays offering is a Caramel Apple Cheesecake!!!
Cousin Johnnie's Caramel Apple Cheesecake on the Food Network
I made a few changes when I baked this. Instead of just the orange juice I also added about a teaspoon of orange zest! It turned out amazing, and really it would be a great cheesecake plain or with any type of topping you like! For the caramel apple sauce I used walnuts instead of pecans and again it was fabulous!
Now onto this mornings power outage. So at about 5:30 this morning I was startled awake by fan briefly beeping. It had turned off then back on then quickly off again. I dont really care if the power goes out for a bit but if its out for a long period of time it makes me nervous. today it was out from 5:30am - 8:45am. Yikes! I even called the city just to make sure it wanst just my house with the problem. Apparently the lady was getting lots of these calles this morning, because she sounded irritated that she had to tell me they were working on it. This morning trying to explain to Tula why she wasnt able to watch her usual morning cartoons on Prarie Public was interesting. She had asked me to turn the tv on and when I told her I couldnt she replied with, "thats not fully mom". I wasnt trying to be funny so i showed her that even if i tried it wouldnt work. All she said then was " well its broke mommy we just need to go get a new one". lol. No its not broken but even if it was I couldnt afford a new one, she didnt appreciate my response. Now that its all working again she is happy as a clam, and so is her mommy!

Getting Started!
After a suggestion by a fellow blogger i decided to start up a blog of my own. I am a stay at home mom so my days are spent cleaning, crafting, and running after 2 little girls! im new at this so please bear with me as i get everything set up and going!
So, today started like every other. The waking of the angry beast. aka Tula! she wakes up craby every morning. followed by some whining and possibly some crying. while Odie stands in her crib, smiling! Odie would sleep until 9 or 10 every morning if tula would allow it but when tula is awake everyone needs to be. not like every other day grandma D decided to take tula out to play with her cousins! Which leaves me with the always smiley, Odie and a quiet but messy house. So im gunna get to cleaning before tula gets home. Altho the tornado that she is will make it messy again in no time! lol
